IndiaSkills Gujarat 2020 Competition.


IndiaSkills Gujarat 2020 Competition

 World Skills Competition is the largest skill competition in the world, held once every two years
 the World Skills International member countries.  These competitions provide both a benchmark for high
 Performance and an objective way to assess vocational excellence.  Objective is to promote world class
 standardsin more than 50 skills undersix skillstrands (sectors) as under:
  Construction and Building Technology
  Transportation and Logistics
 Ufact Manufacturing and Engineering Technology
  Information and Communication Technology
 Arts Creative Arts and Fashion
  Social and Personal Services.
 In 2021 the World Skills Competition will be held in Shanghai, China.  Considering the World Skills
 Competition, India Skills Competition, a pan India championship skills, is held every alternate year.  In
 2020 India Skills Competition will be held for cream off candidates from different trades, who will be
 representing the country at the Olympics of Skills in 2021.
 IndiaSkills Gujarat 2020 Competition
 Keeping in mind the India Skills Competition 2020 and eventual participation of candidates from Gujarat in Gujarat
 World Skills Competitions 2021 At Shanghai, China, the state-level skills competition will be organized

 Skill Competition will harness their skills under the aegis of both state level experts and national level

 The registration mode / modalities and eligibility criteria related to the India Skills Gujarat 2020
 Competition.
 Further in this regard the interested and eligible (please refer to the eligibility criteria for participation)
 Candidates can apply for further screening via website "www.indiaskillsgujarat.org" until 30th November,
 2019. The link has been provided on the website i.e.  www.indiaskillsgujarat.org
 Please note that the interested and eligible candidates need to furnish all the requisite details requested
 in the registration form (as applicable) and also need to upload all relevant documents.  During further
 Screening processes, candidates will have the originals / true-copies of their uploaded
 Hard copy of the documents to the relevant authorities, if required.
 The screening may be held in each district and competition may be held at two levels in the state - Zonal
 and the number of nominations / registrations depending on the state level.  Top 2 candidates (Winner and
 Runner-up) from each skill will be selected at the state level who will represent Gujarat state at RegioMobilization / Selection:
• The state will organize district, zonal and state level Skill Championship.
• For mobilization of the candidate an extensive mobilization campaign through print and 
electronic media will be carried out in the month of October & November 2019. 
• Interested candidates can register online on portal.
Logistic and Academia / Training support:
• In order to ensure widespread popularity and audience participation eventually resulting in an 
increased spectrum of participation in the coming years, the state skill competition across 
most of the trades will be held at central location in a single venue or at segregated venues as 
per need and availability of infrastructure.
• The Premier Technical Institutions and industry partnering with state may be in charge for 
providing with the infrastructure for training purpose and to offer experts to train the candidates 
in the trades chosen by the state.
Prize: 
After State competition, top 2 candidates/team (Winner and Runner-up) from each skill will be eligible to 
receive cash prize. There may be a provision for Zonal level winner also.
Post State Level Championship support:
The winners at the state skill champions (who would be eligible and shortlisted for Regional Level
Competition) would be groomed and provided intense training to fine tune the skills under the guidance
ofmentor. The mentoring aspect along with training would be joint responsibility of GSDM andNSDC.
GSDM envisions that this initiative will create awareness amongst the youth of Gujarat and embolden
them to harness their skills either acquired through heritance or imbibed at different institutions and 
compete with the global competition.
General Terms and Conditions:
 The competitions at different levels will be held across various skills /trades.
 One competitor can apply in ONLY one trade / skill at the time of registration.
 Aadhaar card is mandatory for all the competitors.
 Gujarat Skill Development Mission has identified Institutions and Industry Partners who will be 
acting as a mentor for conducting the various competitions for this mega event. These mentoring 
/ partnering institutions will be carrying out the different levels screening /selections.
Eligibility criteria
 The applicant must be an Indian national and resident of Gujarat / studying in Gujarat / working in
Gujarat / currently residing in Gujarat.
 A candidate born on or after 1st January 1999 will be eligible. Mobile Robotics and Mechatronics 
are TEAM SKILL COMPETITIONS where a team of 2 individuals are required for the competition. For 
Mechatronics, competitors must be born on or after 1st January 1996.

Condition of Eligibility


Only those candidates are eligible to appear in the GSET who have completed / are studying in the final year or semester of a UGC specified Master's degree in a subject of GSET.

The candidates of other States, l.e. other than Gujarat State, belonging to reserved category shall be treated as General category candidates.

The candidates must have Master's Degree recognized by U.G.C., in a subject of GSET.
Candidates are required to appear for GSET in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

 In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of GSET subjects, the candidates may appear in UGC NET/UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year.

The candidates having Post Graduate diploma l certificate awarded by Indian
University/institute or Foreign degree / diploma / certificate awarded by the Foreign University Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence "of their diploma degree / certificate, with Masterrs degree of recognized Indian Universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in) (" Such candidates who

of the SET examination)

The Socially and
Educationaly Backward Class (SEBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/ Scheduled Caste (SC) Scheduled Tribe (ST) / PwD (PH Physically Handicapped/ VH Visually Handicapped) /Transgender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master's degree or equivalent examination are eligible for GSET Examination.

Candidates who are pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent course or Candidates who have appeared for their qualitying Master's degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualitying examinations have been delayed may also apply for
GSET Examination.

 However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for eligibility of Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master's
degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / SC / ST/PwD(PH/VH)
form.
